What is Black Friday and Cyber Monday in the UK?

Is everyone around you talking about black Friday, Black Friday Offers, Black Friday Deals, and all? And you’re like what’s actually that Black Friday? Is this an event? A modern-day festival or something else?

Well, black Friday UK has nothing to do with culture, tradition, or festival, it’s something we all love doing, especially us women. You got that right! It’s shopping, and a win-win game when our favourite products are on the biggest sale of the year!

But what are black Friday and Cyber Monday?

Let’s dig in!

What is Black Friday?

Black Friday refers to the last Friday in November when all the retailers, brands, and merchants offer the biggest sale of the year with significant discounts on products from a variety of categories.

It first originated in the US and was a big hit for many years before coming to our shores. The day only made its UK breakthrough in 2010 when Amazon introduced a significant online discount to British customers. Since then, many other stores have participated in their own. The sale goes on till 2022, and will not be going anywhere anytime soon as the Black Friday sale has become the biggest sale of every year. From women’s clothing to every product available on the market, the Black Friday UK offers have got you covered!

What is Cyber Monday?

As the name says, Cyber Monday takes place on a Monday right after black Friday happened. On Cyber Monday, retailers extend their sales from Black Friday till Monday and offer even greater deals and discounts. In the year 2022, Cyber Monday will be on 28th November.

As the name implies, Cyber Monday is primarily an online event. It first gained popularity in 2005 when the American National Retail Federation discovered a surge in online sales on the Monday following Thanksgiving.

Since then, despite these two sales days having separate names, the line between Cyber Monday and Black Friday has become increasingly blurred with most retailers running discount offers and deals during the weekend in between the two dates. This is most often known as Cyber Weekend.

On Friday(the black Friday sale day), you might find the best offers on the first day early in the morning. But other times, it can be wiser to hold off until the sale starts wrapping up and pricing starts to drop more. It all depends on the product you’ve on the wishlist, so stay vigilant!
